The new Mid Wales Trunk Road Agency is delivered through a Partnership between Powys and Ceredigion County Councils. The Agency is responsible for maintaining the Trunk Road network in Mid Wales which comprises 645.45 km of road and 391 structures (bridges, walls etc.) in Powys, Ceredigion and parts of Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Gwynedd and Merthyr Tydfil.
In delivering the Agency service the Partnership is engaging with the local authorities and with the private sector with certain specialist services being accessed through the partner Council’s framework agreements and private sector arrangements.
The Head Office of the Agency is based in Llandrindod Wells and this is also the main office for the South East region. There are also offices in Aberaeron which is the main office for the West region and in Welshpool which is the main office of the North East region. Each region has a Route Manager and Route Custodian who manage the works for the maintenance of the routes in that region. The Agency also has an Environmental Coordinator who provides specialist advice on environmental issues and who also manages the development of specific environmental plans.
