6 Jun 2008
Traffic-Wales, the Welsh Assembly Government's traffic management and travel information service, would like to advise motorists of the events due to take place in the Millennium Stadium for the month of June 2008.
Monster Jam - Saturday 7th June 2008
Event Starts - 18:00. Expected Crowd - 30,000.
Bruce Springsteen Concert - Saturday 14th June 2008
Event Starts - 19:00. Expected Crowd - 55,000.
Neil Diamond Concert - Thursday 19th June 2008
Event Starts - 17:30. Expected Crowd - 20,000.
Speedway Grand Prix - Saturday 28th June 2008
Event Starts - 19:00. Expected Crowd - 40,000.
For all of these events, a Park and Ride facility will be available and will be sign-posted from the M4 J33; the cost of the Park and Ride will be £10.00 per car. The car park will open at 09:00, with the first bus at 09:30. The last bus will leave the pick-up point at 23:30 and the car park will be locked at midnight.
Although the crowd estimate is not high for the Neil Diamond concert, the start time of 17:30 on a weekday may cause additional congestion, particularly around the roadworks area on the M4 between J30 & J32. Please note that the westbound contra-flow lane can be used by stadium traffic that does not exit until J33. As always, we would advise motorists to leave plenty of time for their journey.
During your journey, please continue to listen to local radio stations for up-to-the-minute travel advice using the traffic information feature on your car stereo. Traffic-Wales will be providing detailed road network information to the in-house broadcasters, TrafficLink, who will convey this information to local radio stations.
Our Control Room Operators will be on hand to take calls on the Traffic-Wales information telephone hotline, on 0845 6026020, if you have any additional queries.
