Traffic-Wales, the Welsh Assembly Government's traffic management and travel information service, is advising rugby fans travelling to watch the Heineken Cup Final on Saturday 24th May to leave themselves plenty of journey time to reach the Millennium Stadium.
The match which kicks-off at 17.00hrs is expected to attract a full house of 74,000 people. As this is such a Major event in the sporting calendar it is advisable before you set-off to check the Traffic-Wales website for details of the conditions of major roads in Wales, including traffic flow, incidents and adverse weather conditions.
By accessing our website, you can check the road conditions along the motorway using our interactive map providing information on the current status, planned roadwork events, 'real time' travel time estimates and 'regularly updated' CCTV camera images. In addition to this, those who register on the Traffic-Wales website can get convenient free SMS travel alerts direct to their mobile phone.
Our Control Room Operators are also on hand to take calls on the Traffic-Wales information telephone hotline, on 0845 6026020, if you have any additional queries.
Traffic-Wales' advice to all fans is to plan your journey ahead of Saturday, log on to and register with our site, and also leave yourself plenty of time for travelling, parking and getting into the stadium. As it is a Bank Holiday weekend, there are no major road works planned, with exception of the M4 widening between J32 - J29."
During your journey, please continue to listen to local radio stations for up-to-the-minute travel advice using the traffic information feature on your car stereo. Traffic-Wales will be providing detailed road network information to the in-house broadcasters, Traffic-Link, who will who convey this information to local radio stations.
